Man what a busy month so far, with school starting and work my painting chair has been empty lately. I have managed to finish a few projects. I started with finishing up the generals for my new 15mm Union division and I am very happy with then. I really didn't have the time to start anything new so I picked some of the figures that my dad painted back in the 70s and did some restore work on them. This us the 79th highlanders, u had to do considerable work on these, I started by washing the whole figures original paint job and then going pack through and repainting all of the chipped areas, this took much less time than I was planning and was surprised with the out come, I made some flags for the unit and based them up. W8th how little time this took and with the outcome of the figures I decided to do the same with two British cavalry regiments, I painted the 1st life guards and house hold guards when I was about the 17 and the have sat in a bag ever since, following the same procedure I used with highlanders I got these done in about a week. I couldn't find any guidons for these guys but its really no big deal. I really forgot how much I liked these old Revell figures, there are not a lot of awesome sets of figures in this scale but I feel that this is one of them. Around the time that I originally painted these I also painted some Prussian dragoons from Hat, I think bringing these figures back to life will be my next project.

French lancers
So I had posted these last year on my workbench and never posted them finished. This regiment was painted after I read an article in wargames illustrated about pink uniforms, overall I think that they painted up quite nicely, the sculpts are OK but they painted up very easy and quick. The figures are from HAT I had to do a little conversion work to make command figures but well worth it. Didn't get anything painted this weekend but wanted to post something.

28 North Gloucestershire infantry
These were some really great 1/72 figures to paint up, i finished the regiment last week and it was a pleasure
For the most part the soft plastic figures can be somewhat of a headache to paint at times but the italiari figures seem to be a little more rigid and holt the paint very well
as soon as i get the lancers form my last post finished up i should be starting on a string of 5 regiments or so to buff up the british lines (no pun intended)
War flag helped with the flags and i think they came out quite satisfactory
French 3rd line lancers
So this is what i have currently been working on at the moment it is the 3rd french line lancers
i really hate when you get the first half of a unit done and then you really dont want to paint the rest
These cavalry are HAT 1/72 french lancers and they aren't half bad had a little flash to take care of but over all i think that they came out rather well, i was reading one of the recent wargames illustrated and there was a passage about the WSS were they show how to paint an Austrian infantryman, in this article the painter talks about the rare instance to dip into a pot of pink paint. i thought to my self "i dont think i have ever painted anything in pink", well i figured while i am interested in this time period (really wanting to shift back over and finish some civil war stuff) i should try it out, did some research and found that these would be the perfect. plus it finally allows me to have some french light horse because at the moment all i have are heavies.
hope you enjoy the photos of these great little figs when they are all done i will be sure to post some better shots

French!!
French line infantry From airfix, thes figures had been sitting in a pag waiting to be painted for near 30 years
I had mentioned in the last post that i had gotten a chance to paint some new stuff up and i started with French line infantry, for some reason these airfix figures stand out to me above all others when thinking about french line, a telaport to my childhood.
The next french unit i painted was the horse grenadiers, i only painted half the regiment so far but they were really great to paint
some custom work cutting off some swords a modeling the braiding and horn
i will say that i had really never been a fan of the 1/72 scale plastics but these really painted up quite well and really makes me think about getting alot more because the prices are so reasonable at 7.50 for a box of 12 cavalry.
tomorrow i will post some photos of the British i have started an am working on my desk along with some really cool flags that i made, i usually get all my flags through the flag guy but with the economy being what it is i have a hard time spending so much on flags when i cant afford the figures, not to take away from rick over at flag dude you pay what you get in return the best flags out there!
sneek peek!!
Flags i made on the left, new British Below
Catching the blog up on my last few months
The hard part was getting them all out and sorted so that i could start basing them
British line artillery from revel probably the last thing my dad ever took the time to sit and paint
These are Three battalions of Prussian line that my dad let me paint when i was about 14 or so
i bases them up and added some flags from warflag and now they aren't too bad ( even though i am ashamed to admit that i painted them)
